Nevada three-star lands No. 2

More and more Las Vegas, Nev., is becoming a winning hand when it comes to finding D-I level football talent, especially if you find yourself calling on Bishop Gorman. Three-star wide receiver Taylor Spencer (6-1, 180, 4.5) is beginning to heat up on the recruiting trail as he has two offers to his credit and is considered one of the best players in the Silver State.
Spencer's first offer came about two weeks ago from Northern Arizona and his second offer came a couple of days ago from Utah.

As a junior, Spencer had 26 receptions for 585 yards and 10 touchdowns while averaging 22.5 yards per catch. He earned all-league honorable mention for his efforts.
"I think that Taylor is the best wide receiver in the state," Bishop Gorman assistant coach Jerry Grimble said. "There is nobody even close.
"Once he goes to a couple of camp or gets his senior season footage out, he's going to see a lot more offers," Grimble said. "He wanted to go UCLA's camp this weekend, but our team is on a 7-on-7 tournament at UNLV and he's going to participate in that.
"The thing that makes Taylor is he's so athletic," Grimble said. "He can jump, has great hands and tremendous concentration. He is by far the best athlete on the team."
That is quite a statement when you consider Bishop Gorman is home to Grimble's nephew, USC bound Xavier Grimble, and his own son Jalen Grimble, who is very highly thought of defensive lineman for the class of 2011.
"When I put my name on a player like I have with Taylor, you can count on it," Grimble said. "He is big time and folks are going to hear about him."
Other schools that are showing interest in Spencer are Arizona State, Cal, Fresno State, Portland State and UNLV.
