Nevada standout planning to graduate early
It's a strong year for talent in Nevada this year and another player we're high on is North Las Vegas (Nev.) Cheyenne athlete Quinton Carter. Carter has one visit set and said he's close to setting two others.
Carter, 6-1, 175 pounds played quarterback his junior year, worked out with the wide receivers at the Nike camp in Oregon and is now being recruited primarily as a defensive back.

"Our backup quarterback has played pretty well and the coaches just wanted to keep me fresh by playing only defense," Carter said. "That's fine with me because I think I'll play defense in college and that's where everyone is recruiting me right now anyways."
Since the first of the month, Carter, the No. 7 rated prospect in Nevada, has received calls from UNLV, Washington, Washington State, Oregon, Oregon State, Fresno State and UCLA. He has offers from Oregon State, Utah and Colorado State but hasn't heard from the Utes or Rams this month.
"I have a visit set to Fresno State for (Dec. 9)," Carter said. "When I talked to Oregon State last, we tried to get a trip date worked out and said the next time they called, we would do that. UCLA also told me they're going to send me something in the mail with their available trip dates and I'm going to set one with them too.
"Those three are my favorites and I like Cal a lot too. They haven't called me this month but they're write me all the time to tell me how interested they are and how much they like me. Everyone is recruiting me as a safety right now and that's fine with me, that's probably the best position for me.
