Nevada RB has three offers

Running back Akil Sharp (5-10, 190, 4.4) from Las Vegas (Nev.) Sierra Vista first grabbed the attention of the recruiting world with a standout performance. Since then he has picked up three offers and is getting serious recruiting attention.
"Having the highest SPARQ rating really opened up a lot of opportunities," Sharp said. "College coaches are calling me saying how good I've done in the offseason and stuff like that. They're telling me they want to see my game film."

"Recruiting is going fine right now," Sharp said. "I'm not trying to focus on that stuff right now; I'm just trying to help my team win."
"I have offers from three Ivy League schools in Princeton, Dartmouth and Harvard," Sharp said. "I've called and spoken with USC, UCLA, Cal, San Diego State and Nevada. We've been talking and they want to see my film and they're excited to see it."
"My top five in no particular order is Cal, UCLA, Stanford, Duke and USC," Sharp said. "I'm more focused on my senior season. I'll probably commit closer to Signing Day, after the season.
"I'm sure the college coaches will understand that," Sharp said. "Depending on what the coaches say, if they need me to commit early to ensure I have a spot. If it fits both of us right, we can work it out."
Even though Sharp played most of his junior season under the duress of injuries, he still earned second-team all-league honors after rushing for 1,255 yards and eight touchdowns.
Sharp is just as sharp in the classroom as he is on the gridiron. He currently carries a 4.5 GPA scored a 1500 SAT, but he scheduled to retake the test later.
Sharpe was selected to the Rivals.com Nevada Preseason Top 20 for the class of 2009 landing as the Silver State's No.16 prospect at any position.
