Nevada program overflowing with talent

Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman does a great job each year of putting their players in to high level Div I programs and this year will be no exception. The schools top three prospects in the class of 2007 are offensive lineman Po'u Palelei, running back Corey White and defensive back Drew Bernhardy. Here's the latest on all three players.
Palelei, 6-2.5, 330 pounds is a huge line prospect who plays on both sides of the ball for Gorman but projects as an offensive lineman in college. Palelei is not going to ever wow you with his testing numbers but the big lineman looked good in the position and one on one drills at the NorCal NIKE camp and projects and could play guard or ever center in college.

"Po'u has offers from Oklahoma, Arizona, Arizona State, Utah, BYU, Washington, Texas Tech and Oregon," Gorman coach David White said. "Oregon State and Clemson are showing a lot of interest as well. Right now, his top five, in order, is Arizona, Washington, Oklahoma, Oregon and Utah. Arizona is his top school and he'll take all his trips before committing."
White, 5-7, 200 pounds is built like a small tank and is very strong. He also looked good at the NorCal NIKE camp jumping 30 inches in the vertical to go with 21 reps on the bench. He's a downhill runner who relies more on power than juking and jiving. As a junior, the athlete rushed for 865 yards and 10 touchdowns and averaged over 12 yards a carry while backing up All-American Demarco Murray.
"Corey has been offered by Washington, Colorado State, Colorado, Boise State and Idaho and those are his top schools as well," White said. "I also think he's close to getting offers from Michigan State, Oregon and Oregon State."
Bernhardy, 6-0, 190 pounds also performed very well at the NIKE Camp and projects as a safety in college. He has good size and earned all-league honors the last two years. As a junior, the safety totaled 68 tackles, recovered five fumbles and picked off one pass.
"Cory is still waiting for his first offer but Stanford, Nevada, Boise State and Colorado State all sound like they're close," White said. "He was at Stanford's one day camp last weekend and he really likes it there. If Stanford were to offer, I think there is a good chance he would jump on it because they have been his top school for awhile now."
