Nevada OL gets offer

The Silver State of Nevada has a fine group of athletes this season. One of them is offensive tackle/defensive tackle Joe Sutter (6-7, 315, 5.3) from Reno (Nev.) Manouge. Though Sutter plays both ways for Bishop Manouge, it is on the offensive side of the ball that he projects as on the collegiate level.
“Joe was born with the stats that D-I schools like,” Bishop Manouge head coach Joe Sellers said. “Being 6-foot-7 will get you attention. He has to duck to get through the door.”

Besides being an outstanding football player, Sutter is also a stellar performer on the track. He participates in the shot and discus. As a matter of fact, he is a two-time State Champion in the shot. He has thrown the shot 54-feet and the discus 160.
Sutter has outstanding lower body strength as his 510-pound squat would indicate. He also power cleans 320 and his bench is 320.
Sutter has received his first offer from his local school Nevada. Washington, Washington State, Oregon, Oregon State, Arizona, Fresno State, Boise State and Brigham Young have been by the school.
More schools are expected to come by this week.
“We get schools to come by every year,” Sellers said. “But this year they are coming by and have a lot more interest.”
“Joe is learning and he’s getting better every year,” Sellers said. “He’s a late bloomer like many athletes his size. We are excited about his potential of being a great player.”
“Joe has great quickness for a big kid,” Sellers said. “Everyone who has seen him play in person or on tape comments on his quickness.”
