One of the best kept secrets from the Silver State of Nevada is about to become a secret no more. This player was visited from schools from the Pac 10, Big 12, Big 12, Mountain West and the WAC this past spring.

Kosub was a first-team all-state selection as an offensive tackle. He was a first-team league performer on both sides of the ball as an offensive tackle and defensive end. He also earned all-region honors as a defensive end and defensive tackle.
For his junior season, Kosub racked up 58 tackles, seven quarterback pressures, six sacks, five tackles for loss, two pass deflections, two caused fumbles and one fumble recovery.
Kosub is getting most of his D-I looks as a defensive tackle but schools like him as an offensive guard or offensive center.
"Every team in the Pac 10 except USC, UCLA and Arizona came by this spring," Hug coach Rollins Stallworth said. "They all came by to see about Derek."
UNLV, Nevada, Michigan State, Fresno State, Colorado, Colorado State and Illinois also came by the campus this spring to show interest in Kosub.
"Derek is a big basketball player who plays football," Stallworth said. "Because of his basketball, he has excellent athletic ability and has great feet."
"Derek's potential as a football player is off the charts," Stallworth said. "It's unbelievable how good he could end up being."
"Derek is one if the best line prospects to ever come out of Hug high school," Stallworth said. "He's also going to be one of the most recruited players out of Hug, too."
Kosub benches 340, squats 415, cleans 260 and benched 185-pounds 25 times at the NATS combine that was recently held.
