Nevada corner could be elite prospect

One of the top five prospects in the state of Nevada next fall will be Las Vegas (Nev.) Palo Verde defensive back Torin Harris. Harris had a monster showing at the NIKE Combine in Long Beach last March and will be one player to watch closely at the upcoming SoCal NIKE Camp.
Harris, 6-0, 175 pounds was an all-region selection a year ago at corner after totaling 35 tackles and 17 pass breakups. He also rushed for 232 yards on just 24 carries and added 488 yards on returns.

At the Long Beach NIKE Combine, Harris clocked a 4.50-40, 4.25 in the shuttle, jumped 43 inches in the vertical and threw the power ball 36'03" for a 116.01 SPARQ Rating, one of the best we saw the entire Spring.
On the recruiting front, Harris has one early offer and is receiving attention from several schools out West.
"UNLV offered me at their Junior Day," Harris said. "I'm hearing from a lot of the West Coast schools but the ones recruiting me the hardest are Colorado, Arizona State and Washington along with UNLV of course.
"I grew up a USC fan and that's still my favorite school right now. I also like Cal, UCLA, Oregon and Arizona, that's my top five right now. I plan to to attend a lot of team camps this summer but I haven't decided which ones just yet. I'm going to the NIKE Camp at USC this weekend and I've been training pretty hard for that."
