Nevada athlete pulls trigger

Las Vegas, Nev., is one of the fastest growing cities in the nation and as the population grows so does the football talent. One of the best players from the desert oasis is athlete prospect Chris Jones (6-3, 190, 4.6) from Las Vegas (Nev.) Shadow Ridge.
Jones took an official visit to UNLV this past weekend and really liked what he saw.

"My visit to UNLV went really well," Jones said. "I learned more about the coaches and they answered the questions I had.
"I can see where this program is going in the future," Jones said. "Coach Todd Berry, the offensive coordinator, knows what he's talking about and I can see he will be able to take me places.
"UNLV's coaching staff are very knowledgeable," Jones said. "They know more about a lot of things than me, and I can go to them for their knowledge about life as well as a football so I committed to UNLV.
"They offered me in July," Jones said. "I committed to them on my visit.
UNLV recruited Jones for his skill as a quarterback and feel he will be able to run their version of the spread offense.
Even though there are other schools still courting Jones, he told Rivals.com that he is done with recruiting now that he gave the Running' Rebels his pledge.
As a senior, Jones threw for over 1,100 yards and threw for 14 touchdowns. He also added over 300 yards rushing and scored two other touchdowns on the ground.
Colorado State, Boise State and Nevada also showed interest in Jones.
Jones is a member of the Rivals.com Nevada Top 15 team for the class of 2008 landing at the Silver State's No. 9 prospect at any position.
