Neophyte LB on the rise

Lake Balboa (Calif.) Birmingham has another linebacker prospect who has D-I ability in Byron Bullock (6-0, 200, 4.55). He is a virtual neophyte to the game of football and though he is raw, he has the talent to become a very good D-I player down the road.
“For a kid with good size and who has never participated in track, Byron can really move,” Birmingham head coach Ed Croson said. “Byron is very athletic and has tremendous hops, he can jump out of a gym.”

“Byron has only been playing football since the tenth grade,” Croson said. “Well he took to the game like a Duck takes to water.”
“Byron ended up an all-league selection as a junior,” Croson said. “In only his second year of football.”
Bullock racked up over 85 tackles during his award winning senior season.
Tape and mail is currently going out to regional schools on Bullock. Most schools are taking a wait and see attitude toward Bullock because of his lack of experience.
Pac10, WAC and Mountain West schools have shown interest.
