Nelsons recruitment taking off

Hollywood (Fla.) South Broward is the location of a senior prospect quickly emerging among high majors. That prospect is 6-foot-4, 225 pound defensive end Clavion Nelson. He has racked up three offers with others showing major interest.
"South Florida, Illinois, and Kansas have offered me," Nelson said. "Cincinnati, Connecticut, North Carolina, and Wisconsin are also showing me interest."

While his recruitment is starting to hit a frenzied pace, Nelson still remembers when the first official offer arrived.
"Illinois was my first offer," Nelson said. "When they first offered me I was really shocked. I really liked them when they offered me and I was really thinking about going there."
Since that time, Nelson has slowed things down with regards to making a decision and is now setting up a pair of official visits for December.
"I am visiting Kansas and Illinois in December," Nelson said. "I am going to Kansas the weekend of December 3rd and then I am going to Illinois the next weekend."
Kansas and Illinois will not be his only visits prior to him making a decision.
"I know I am going to take more visits," Nelson said. "I know South Florida will get one and I don't know who will get the other two."
At this point, the talented speed rusher says that it is all even amongst all those interested in him.
"I don't have any leaders right now," Nelson said.
As he steps on college campuses and narrows things down to that one school that fits him, Nelson is looking more at how a university can impact him off the field than on it.
"I want a school that will have me come out well educated on top of making me a better football player," Nelson said. "Education is important to me."
On his senior season, Nelson said he had 46 tackles and 10 sacks for South Broward. The Bulldogs are 6-1 on the season and have secured a spot in Class 5A.
