Nelson recaps his Kansas visit

This past weekend the Kansas Jayhawks hosted a number of official visitors. Amongst that group on campus was Hollywood (Fla.) South Broward three-star defensive end Clavion Nelson.
"It was a good visit," Nelson said. "I got a chance to see the facilities, the tutoring room, the cafeteria, the football field and facilities, the coaches office, the player's lounge - It was very nice. I liked it out there."

During the visit, Nelson was shown around by Florida native Deshaun Sands, a redshirt freshman running back.
"He said it is a team," Nelson said. "He said that it is a lot of hard work. He talked about needing to be ready to come in and work hard to earn everything you get there."
The 6-foot-4, 225-pound defensive end has remained in regular contact with a pair of Jayhawk assistants.
"I talk with (Defensive Line Coach) Buddy Wyatt and (Co-Offensive Coordinator) Darrell Wyatt the most," Nelson said. "They have said that they don't have many defensive ends so I got a good chance of playing early. They see that I have room to grow on my build. They said they see a lot of potential in me."
While the visit was spectacular, Nelson says he didn't come close to committing.
"No, not really," Nelson said. "I am still pretty open. I don't really have a leader."
With about two months to Signing Day, Nelson intends to take at least two more official visits before reaching a final decision.
"I am going to Illinois this weekend," Nelson said. "I am also going to South Florida in January. I am going there on January 14th. Those are my only visits that have been scheduled at this point."
At this time, Nelson holds offers from Illinois, Kansas, and South Florida.
