Nelson lands first two offers

Ryan Nelson is on the board with his first two offers and with one coming from the Pac-12 it's a big deal especially because he has some other connections to that school as well.
"UNLV saw my film, really liked me and wanted to talk to me," Nelson said. "They came to school one day and I got an offer from them right before one of my baseball games.

"With Utah, we were at our lineman competition one day. They had already talked to me and already seen my film. They were watching me do my work."
After the Utah coaches saw the 2017 three-star offensive tackle from Buena Park, Calif., in person, they contacted his coach, Anthony White, and an offer came Nelson's way.
White played for the Utes and former Buena Park teammate Keven Dixon was a part of Utah's last recruiting class so Nelson said that offer is definitely something to consider early on.
"Coach White got a phone call afterwards and they were talking and he put it on speaker and the coach said, 'I just want Ryan Nelson to know he has an offer from the University of Utah,'" Nelson said. "We were really surprised and I said thank you.
"Utah is a pretty big offer because Keven Dixon, the left tackle before me, is going there. It's coach White's old alumni so he has connections there so it's really cool to have an offer from them."
BYU is showing a lot of interest in Nelson, who said Cal, USC, UCLA and Nevada have also reached out. It's still early in the process for the 6-foot-6, 254-pound prospect so he's not hinting at any favorites just yet.
Asked if he has a team that stands out in his recruitment, Nelson said: "Not that I'm willing to give away."
