Hollandale (Miss.) Simmons three-star 2016 athlete Nero Nelson played his first season of football as a sophomore in 2013, and it is safe to say he turned a few heads with his play. Offers have started to roll in with Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Southern Miss, Florida State, and Louisville already on the table.

He does not have any leaders, and he does not have any unofficial visits planned for the fall at this point.
As a sophomore Nelson was a standout on offense, defense, and special teams for the Blue Devils. He had 49 carries for 543 yards and 7 touchdowns. He caught 4 passes for 110 yards and 2 scores. In the defensive backfield he 27 tackles and 4 interceptions. On special teams he had 3 kickoff returns for 185 yards and 3 punt returns for 137 yards.
He enjoys playing both sides of the ball but he does take particular joy in playing defense.
"It's good. I like both sides but I like defense better," Nelson said.
What does he like the most about defense.
"Catching interceptions and making plays," Nelson said.
Practice has already started for Simmons and Nelson is doing his part to bring home a championship in 2014.
Nelson is currently ranked No. 28 in the athlete category and is No. 7 in the Rivals.com Mississippi Initial Top 20 for 2016.
