Nebraska TE picking up offers

Omaha (Neb.) Central tight end Nate Prater is slowly becoming one of the more highly recruited tight ends in the Midlands Region.
“Oklahoma has been sending a lot of handwritten mail,” the 6-foot-4, 250-pound Prater said. “Notre Dame has been sending a lot, too. Michigan and Purdue are some newer ones that are writing me.”

All of the attention has produced just three offers so far, with more on the way before long.
“I have offers right now from Iowa State, Kansas and Kansas State,” he said. “But Oklahoma told me if I had come to their camp they would have offered me. They wanted to see how interested in them I was by coming to their camp. I think they will still offer me, even though I didn’t get to go.
“Michigan and Purdue have said they will but haven’t officially done it. It is nice to have several schools looking at me so I have plenty of options I can look at.”
Don’t look for a quick decision from Prater.
“I want to weigh out my options. I will probably wait a while before I commit to anyone. I want to find the best place for me.”
As a junior, Prater hauled in 31 passes for 365 yards and scored eight touchdowns.
