GLENDORA, Calif. – Even at this early juncture, things are simple for four-star defensive end Stephon Wright. The California product holds roughly 20 scholarship offers and has plenty of options when it comes to college. And while he’s yet to officially narrow his list, three schools have grabbed the reigns of his recruitment as things stand now.

Asked to name standouts, Wright doesn’t hesitate.

“Washington, USC and Nebraska,” he said on Sunday. “Those three for now.”

Wright’s list of leaders seems to be more than just lip service. The Los Angeles (Calif.) Cathedral High School standout seems to want to accelerate his recruitment. In fact, Wright has immediate plans to take a handful of campus visits.

“I have Arizona State in two weeks,” Wright said. “Then, I have Nebraska at the end of the month. After that, I have Washington in April.”

Wright shares a city with USC and has a solid level of familiarity with the hometown school. ASU also brings a certainly semblance of Pac 12 comfort. Nebraska, on the other hand, represents the unknown. It’s what has Wright excited about the upcoming visit.

“I don’t know that much about Nebraska,” he said. “That’s why I’m going. I just hear all these good things about them and the coaches, so I want to get out there and see.”

Wright, who has set no commitment date, is the No. 16 strongside defensive end and the No. 144 overall prospect in the class of 2019.

RIVALS REACTION: USC is the solid favorite to land Wright, but Oklahoma, Arizona State, Nebraska, Washington and others remain in the mix. His upcoming visits could change things, but prying the defensive end away from the Trojans will be difficult. Wright is still waiting to hear from new UCLA head coach Chip Kelly, as the Bruins are yet to offer him a scholarship
