Nebraska, Iowa State involved with Florida-based athlete

THE LATEST: Four-star athlete Jaquan Randolph plays both ways for the Lake Gibson (Fla.) High School and says he has little preference when it comes to whether he’ll play receiver or cornerback in college. What he does have, however, is a solid list of offers and a few schools that stand out from the pack. Below, Randolph talks about his leaders and kicks around a possible visit schedule.

IN HIS WORDS

ON HIS CURRENT FRONTRUNNER:

“Most likely, Nebraska. That’s who I’m feeling the most right now. I haven’t been there yet though.”

ON WHAT HE LIKES ABOUT NEBRASKA:

“I like the way they talked to me. I liked them when they were down here. Plus, I remember Scott Frost from when he was at UCF, so that’s cool. I haven't talked to him yet. I’ve just been talking to the assistant.”

ON NEBRASKA'S RECRUITING PITCH:

“They see me as a receiver or maybe even maybe I defensive back. I play both ways [in high school], so they think I can do either up there. It doesn’t matter to me, but receiver most likely.”

ON SUMMER AND FALL VISITS:

“Nebraska for sure, That’s the one I really want to take. Also, Iowa State. I want to go to Florida, too.”

ON IOWA STATE:

“The Iowa State coach really didn’t say much after he offered, to be honest. I just want to go up there and figure it out for myself.”

ON FLORIDA:

“They want me to come up to campus and look around. They want to get to know me and I want to get to know them. I’ve been there before, though. I like the way the campus is. I like the size of it.”
