Nebraska is ready for a massive recruiting weekend as the Huskers return home to Lincoln to host UCLA.
In what has been a staple under Matt Rhule, the Huskers are targeting a handful of blue-chippers out of the Southeast, particularly Mississippi.
Nebraska starting running back Dante Dowdell is a native of the Sip, and there be more Mississippi talent on the sidelines and in the stands watching him on Saturday.
Included in that group is 2026 four-star DL Nolan Wilson and four-star OT Mitchell Smith, as well as 2027 four-star RB Tyson Robinson.
Wilson, who has enjoyed a breakout junior season at Picayune (Miss.) Memorial High School, has collected multiple SEC and Big Ten overtures since the start of the fall. Alabama, LSU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Ole Miss and others have all entered the race for Wilson, who also picked up an offer from Nebraska earlier this month.
Smith, a native of Mississippi prepping at Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy, is also set to make the trip to Lincoln. Smith has made visits to nearby Baton Rouge frequently and is also a top target for both Ole Miss and Mississippi State. This is his first trip to Nebraska in hopes of landing an offer from coach Donovan Raiola.
Robinson is one of the nation's best in the 2027 recruiting cycle out of Brandon (Miss.) High School. Robinson has amassed a handful of early SEC overtures from the likes of Arkansas, Auburn, Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Oklahoma and Ole Miss, as well as Oregon, Ohio State and others. Robinson, the No. 38 overall player in the initial Rivals rankings for the 2027 class, is also waiting on an offer from the Huskers this weekend.
