Amid coaching changes and the morning of National Signing Day, one of the biggest flips of the 2025 recruiting cycle went public on Wednesday morning.
Four-star Homestead (Fla.) High School star Cortez Mills has announced a verbal commitment to the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He had been verbally committed to Oklahoma since July 1.
"I feel like it's the best spot for me because they've been treating me like a top priority," Mills told Rivals. "And I feel the most comfortable there."
The conversations with the Huskers coaching staff ramped up in recent weeks, but NU was always in the mix for Mills dating back to his early days as a recruit. He took an official visit to Lincoln back in the spring.
The program has long sold the productive Floridian on making an instant impact in the Big Ten.
"I'm a deep threat," he said. "I'm open 24/7. That's why the coaches are super excited."

What Mills brings to Nebraska
The Huskers pick up one of the most productive prospects in the Sunshine State in Mills, who is a play-maker on the outside. He is a plus route runner with excellent length and ball skills, with especially strong ability at the catch point. It led to some 2,000 yards and 24 touchdowns despite being the well-known go-to guy on his prep squad as an upperclassman.
Mills has a savvy about him, instincts and a strong IQ for the game that has shown up on defense and special teams through the years. It's a competitiveness and energy that compliments the polish and high-floor nature he operates with at the wide receiver position. As he fills out and enhances strength like his work in tight quarters or at the top of the route, this should be a prospect who doesn't wait very long to see the filed at the next level.
Nebraska has brought in several wide receivers in the cycle, but it is Mills who is the highest-rated among them. In fact, he sits as the Huskers' top overall recruit in the Rivals250 as of Tuesday.
