Nease sleeper getting interest

Ponte Verda (Fla.) Nease has been getting a lot of attention this year from recruiters with players like Tim Tebow, Charlie Kirschman and Hunter Haynes, but there is another prospect that has picked up Division I offers that is still flying under the radar, athlete Mannie Wellington.
"I have offers from BYU, Air Force and Wofford right now," Wellington said. "I get a lot of interest from Hawaii, West Virginia, Illinois and Northwestern too. I get some handwritten mail and things like that from those schools."

The 5-foot-7, 196-pound Wellington attended the NIKE camp in Tallahassee where he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.63 seconds, the shuttle in 4.25 seconds and posted a 34-inch vertical jump.
"Right now my top four schools would be West Virginia, Hawaii, Northwestern and Wake Forest," Wellington said. "I'm really still open to other schools though, I just want to check stuff out and see who all offers and stuff."
In addition to the Tallahassee NIKE camp, Wellington attended camps at West Virginia, Georgia Southern and Northwestern this summer.
"Academics is the main factor for me, I want to make sure that I get a good education wherever I go," Wellington said. "I wouldn't mind staying close to home if I could, but I will go wherever is best for me. As time approaches and I have more info I will know more about the specific things I'm looking for in a school."
