Neal considering his options

Early in the recruiting process Dallas (Texas) Lincoln wide receiver Derrick Neal gave his verbal pledge to the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Then he had a change of heart. Instead of football, he would play basketball, and he gave his commitment to UT-Arlington with his brother Erick Neal.
Now he is back on the market and re-evaluating his options again, and football is back in the picture.

"I didn't want to sign early," Neal said. "He was signing early and I wasn't really sure at the time."
Two schools have offered and he plans to take official visits to both.
"New Mexico offered me and Kansas offered me and those are the only two schools that's really looked into me," Neal said. "I'm supposed to be going to Kansas on the 17th and New Mexico on the 24th."
Baylor and TCU are also in the picture, but neither has offered. In fact, Neal took his first official visit to TCU in December.
"I loved it," Neal said of TCU. "It's something I could see myself doing."
One school not in the picture anymore is Texas Tech.
At this time, he is still carefully evaluating his options but he is quick to name his two leaders.
"New Mexico and Kansas," Neal said.
Both schools have mentioned the possibility of playing basketball too, and Neal is considering the option of playing both.
"It's possible," Neal said.
