NCs Rivers plans to decide this summer

Linebacker Barquell Rivers out of Wadesboro (N.C.) Anson holds approximately 15 offers according to head coach Jody Grooms. Has the 6-foot-0, 210-pounder begun to narrow down his favorites?
"Pretty much everything has stayed the same for Barquell," he said. "He is very open in the recruiting process and hasn't signaled to me any leaders. He still has a lot of offers from schools like Clemson, Florida State, Michigan, North Carolina, North Carolina State, South Carolina, Virginia, Virginia and recently got another one from Louisville.

"Surprisingly he's gotten all this interest and we haven't even really sent out tape yet. Though he hasn't named any direct leaders, I know he does have offers from the majority of the schools he is interested in."
Schools that haven't offered the star linebacker better hurry according to Grooms as Rivers is looking to make a pretty early decision.
"We're looking to hopefully narrow his list of schools sometime this summer and then probably go to camps there," he said. "Once that is out of the way, I believe he'd like to announce his decision before the season. I know he's already getting kind of tired of recruiting already."
What do colleges see out of Rivers?
"He is a great leader on the field that is very intelligent," he said. "He goes sideline to sideline and makes all the right plays. He is also an exceptional athlete that is a star baseball player and has been a four year starter for our football team."
Rivers earned all-state and defensive MVP honors for the conference last season after registering 156 tackles, 14 for loss, three interceptions and 10 deflections.
