The departure of four Cavaliers assistant coaches has not changed Frye's feelings about UVa.
"I am still very interested (in Virgina)," Frye said. "It's a great school."
Frye also said he is still wide open with regards to his final college choice.
At the Shrine Bowl, Frye will get a look at free safety for the Tar Heel squad. He was an all-conference selection at cornerback during his high school team with 16 pass break-ups and three interceptions.
"It's a very prestigious place to be it," Frye said. "You have to work hard to get here. A lot of the kids here have the same amount of talent. Obviously I had a lot of the characteristics they look for in their team."
Frye and his North Carolina teammates will begin practice for their showdown with South Carolina at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Dorman High.
