NC running back getting in-state interest

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Greensboro (N.C.) Northwest Guilford running back Chris Kennedy attended the North Carolina Nike Football Training Camp this weekend and represented himself well. Though he doesn't have any offers yet, Kennedy proved that he is a legitimate division I prospect.
"It was good," Kennedy said of the camp. "It worked me hard and it corrected me on a lot of mistakes I was making that I didn't notice and it made me notice them. I should be breaking down more and making sure I'm switching the ball to different hands and make sure just to keep my head on straight and keep working."

Despite his empty early offer sheet, Kennedy has been hearing from several schools.
"I'm hearing from schools but I haven't had any official offers," he said. "I've heard different stuff about waiting until they can see me in the spring to see if I can play the defensive side of the ball."
Kennedy lists Duke, East Carolina, Wofford and North Carolina as schools that are showing him interest currently. Kennedy has a good frame and athleticism and could end up on either side of the ball, though most of his work is done on the offensive side of the ball.
"Right now it's my offense but my sophomore year I played some safety," he said. "My junior year, just running back. I think my coach said something about playing some safety just to make sure I can switch my hips and keep going."
Kennedy hopes to get to Duke, ECU, Wofford and UNC camps this summer as he continues to work on his game and work towards his goal of a state championship.
