NC RB Carney to visit VT this weekend

Mocksville (N.C.) Davie junior running back Cade Carney is planning on visiting Virginia Tech this weekend.
"People tell me they fall in love up there with the atmosphere and the fans," said the 6-foot, 201-pound Carney. "They have told me that those things are great. I'm hoping to get a taste for that and I'm hoping to continue to talk with their coaches. I am hoping to land an offer from them soon."

Carney does not have any favorite schools right, but he likes North Carolina, N.C. State, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest and East Carolina.
"North Carolina does a great job recruiting and they do a great job getting out there," he said. "You see them at all the sites around five times more than anyone else. They do a great job of covering players and games. They are obviously appealing.
"I like the coaches that are coming in at N.C. State," said Carney. "They are now starting to get some of the players they want in their system. I like the offense that they run and I like coach Uremovich. He is the offensive line coach that's recruiting me. I like their coaches."
Carney currently holds offers from Georgia Tech and East Carolina in addition to N.C. State and Wake Forest.
"I love the coaches at Georgia Tech and I love the education that they have there," Carney said. "Georgia Tech's a great school and I really like the coaches. I like the offense that they run and they offered me as a B back, so I like the opportunity to get the football 25 times a game.
"I love the atmosphere at ECU and my dad played there," he said. "I have gone to games there since I was a baby. That is the school my parents went to and my other sister is going there now. I feel like I have a familiarity with the school, the system and coach Ross. I feel like I am very familiar with East Carolina with how they run things and I feel like there are no secrets there."
Carney's most recent visit was to Georgia Tech when they played Duke.
"It was great," he said. "It was a good game. I had a little bit of recruiting from Duke, so it was good to see them play. It was also good to see the coaches up at Georgia Tech. I was reassured that their coaches are genuine. They spent a lot of time with me and time is one of the things that I feel like you can't fake. I really appreciate that from their coaching staff and their staff has done a good job of keeping up with me. I really like that."
Carney wants to also visit Wake Forest and N.C. State at some point.
