NC lineman Smith claims leader
Massive offensive tackle Brandon Smith out of Kernersville (N.C.) East Forsyth has one offer at this time. Plenty of other schools are interested in the 6-foot-8, 330-pound lineman. What's the latest?
"I've got the one offer right now from East Carolina," he said. "Connecticut just came out of nowhere and they are recruiting me now. Their coach messaged me on Facebook and I'm keeping in touch with him. He said he watched my film and we'll talk soon."

Aside from Connecticut, South Carolina and Notre Dame are just a couple other schools coming into the picture.
Not long ago, Smith made the trek to Raleigh to visit NC State.
"The last school I visited was NC State two or three weeks ago," he said. "I think it's always good to go down there. I talked to the coaches a bit."
Does Smith like anybody?
"Of course East Carolina would be in my top, they are No. 1 right now," he said. "They are the first ones to believe in me and to offer me, so of course they are No. 1. I might try to get back out there."
