NC LB likes FSU, MD, Wake

Greensboro (N.C.) Dudley linebacker Dominique Midgett has totaled five offers to date, but three schools stand out for the 6-foot-1, 220-pound prospect at this point.
Dominique earned first team all-conference and second team all-area honors as a junior. An intense playmaker, Midgett is always around the football and had a good showing at the Nike camp in Charlottesville back in April.

“I’ve got offers from Maryland, Vanderbilt, Duke, East Carolina, and Wake Forest at this point,” said Midgett. “Maryland, Wake Forest, and Florida State are my favorites at this point. Maryland and Wake Forest are probably recruiting me the hardest at this time.”
A defensive end last season opposite highly touted North Carolina State commitment DeMario Pressley, Midgett recorded 95 tackles and 17 sacks as teams moved their schemes away from the talented defensive tackle. This season, the Dudley coaching staff plans to move Dominique to the middle linebacker spot, a position in which he could flourish at the college level.
“I’ve got a good nose for the football and a motor that doesn’t stop,” admitted Midgett. “If I can improve my speed during the off-season, things could go very well for me this fall.”
What’s Dominique looking for in a school?
“The relationship between the coaches and the player is real important,” expressed Midgett. “The prestige of the program as well as how they perform on the field this season could weigh on my decision too.”
Besides the Nike camp at Virginia, Midgett has camped at Duke and Wake Forest up to this point. Dominique plans to possibly camp at East Carolina and visit Maryland unofficially before the season starts.
