NC backer White is picking up interest

Interest is rising for 6-foot-2, 210-pound linebacker Markee White. The Ahoskie (N.C.) Hertford County is hearing from a few schools so far and is starting to hit the camp circuit.
"Recruiting is going good right now," he said. "I just came back from East Carolina recently. I did well. I felt like I was the only linebacker that could cover.

"They did talk about offering me. They couldn't say for sure. They are supposed to get back with me soon."
White also took a camp at North Carolina and is considering a trip to NC State soon.
Does he like anybody?
"I love North Carolina and I like East Carolina too," he stated. "I just like North Carolina because of the school. I like the atmosphere, coaching staff and players."
A versatile prospect, White posted 120 tackles and 16 sacks as a junior. He added 640-yards rushing and 12 touchdowns on offense.
His coach, Scott Privott went further about him.
"Last year was his breakout season and he turned a lot of heads," he said. "He's just a specimen that is cut in all the right places. He qualified for the regionals in the 300 hurdles and 110 hurdles and has tremendous upside. He's a physical player too that plays well in space and isn't afraid to hit you."
Privott maintains there are more prospects to watch at Hertford County in 2010.
"Our defensive tackle is a 6-foot-3, 250-pounder, Alvin Walston," he said. "He's very aggressive and has tremendous upside. He's going to be a star at camps. He's very aggressive. He already camped at East Carolina.
"We also have 5-foot-9, 180-pound athlete Antonio Vaughn. He ran for over 1,000-yards last year and threw for 750-yards. He added four interceptions, running three back for touchdowns. He's got all the moves and just a knack for the football. He plays safety for us on defense and is a leader on both sides of the ball. He's hearing from East Carolina, North Carolina, Duke, Old Dominion, Elon and Winston-Salem State."
