NC backer quickly commits to ECU

Offer No. 1 came in last week for a talented linebacker in North Carolina. The 6-foot-3, 217-pounder quickly followed up with a decision upon receiving the offer on Friday.
"He's verballed to East Carolina," Elizabeth City (N.C.) Northeastern head coach Antonio Moore said of linebacker Jamieon Moss. "That is when East Carolina offered and we had a tour at East Carolina. Coach Ruffin was really direct with him and he trusted Coach Ruffin.

"When he got there, he saw that the defense they run is the same defense we run where he can be an outside linebacker and make plays on the edge. He's just the type of linebacker they wanted."
Did anything else stick out about the Pirates?
"I think the kid is there every year, ever since he's been a freshman," he said. "It's only a couple hours away and I've taken him to some big games against North Carolina, NC State and Virginia Tech. It's a great atmosphere."
Despite the pledge, Moss is soft as he is taking other visits.
"He's going to take other visits," he said. "He has a visit with NC State this weekend. They just want him to come up and his parents already have told him they would take him up there."
In addition to NC State, North Carolina and South Carolina are interested.
However, East Carolina got the pledge and what are they getting?
"He's a really, really good linebacker," he said. "They are getting a player and a hard worker. He's got great feet, great hips and is just a determined player. He's got a long wingspan and he's a really smart kid with a 3.5 GPA. They are getting the complete package."
