NC backer McNair holds offers

Offers have started to roll in for Jacksonville (N.C.) White Oak linebacker Tremayne McNair. The 6-foot-2, 225-pounder holds two scholarships to date and has numerous other colleges taking a strong look.
"I've got offers from Duke and NC State," he said. "Duke offered first around January 6th and then on January 23rd NC State offered.

"I felt pretty good about it. It's a big weight off my shoulders to get the offers."
McNair plans to take his first junior day this coming weekend to North Carolina.
"I wouldn't mind seeing the football facilities and a basketball game on my trip," he said. "I actually grew up a fan of North Carolina, but I'm open to anyone right now."
What does McNair like about the Tar Heels as he grew up a fan of them?
"North Carolina is just a family school," he said. "People in my family liked them and I was a basketball fan. A couple of my friends have gone there too, Donte Moss and Deunta Williams. Deunta went to White Oak and Donte and I played basketball together since sixth grade. I still talk to them when I see them."
With recruiting rising, what does McNair want in a college?
"I just want a good place where I can get a good education," he said. 'I want a good environment and a good family tradition. I would also like to stay close to home."
The Carolina prospect earned all-conference and all-area honors as a junior after posting 80 tackles and seven sacks as a junior.
