Navy joins the race for Gulley

Kenosha (Wisc.) Tremper running back Toneo Gulley entered the fall with offers from most the Mid-American Conference, but a new offer from one of the United State's Military Academies has caught his interest.
"I just got offered by the Naval Academy," Gulley reported. "That holds a lot of interest. I am actually going through the application process with them. I actually just got finished with it and am sending it to our governor."

While Gulley awaits word on his application with the Naval Academy, he is working on putting together a trip out to Annapolis.
"The Naval Academy, I will most likely do an official visit with them but we haven't set up an actual date," Gulley said. "I heard it is a nice area, so I can't wait to get out there."
Gulley has taken just one unofficial visit thus far this fall and that was to Toledo on Oct. 8 to see the Rockets take on Eastern Michigan.
"I am trying to go to some more, but have to work out my schedule with my parents," he said. "I've talked official visits with some other MAC schools about it. I have Ohio University, Akron and Toledo at my top in the MAC right now."
The 5-8, 185-pound Gulley includes Navy in that group to complete his current top four. He will now have more time to evaluate his college choices because his high school career is now finished after Tremper finished the season 5-4. Gulley estimated his final stats on the season at 1,200 rushing yards and over 20 touchdowns, but he also played much of the year with an injured knee.
"After the injury, I am happy with the way I came back… I left it all out on the field," he said.
