Defensive end, check.
Linebacker, check.
You name it, Navarre can do it.
“I like to play with a lot of finesse, but I’m also capable of overpowering my opponents,” Navarre, who earned all-state, all-metro, and all-county defensive player of the year honors as a junior, said.
Overpowering is an understatement.
Navarre racked up 227 yards rushing, 124 yards receiving, 27 tackles for a loss and 11 sacks as a junior. He even had five fumble recoveries, including one for a safety. To top it off, he’s a two-time state wrestling champion.
So it’s no surprise that he’s already getting major attention from the college coaches. Navarre has a scholarship offer from Maryland and lists the Terps as his leader over Notre Dame, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.
Navarre will camp at the State College Nike Training Camp, along with stops this summer at Penn State and Maryland.
“I’m going to be looking at academics, the school environment and the location when it comes time to make a decision,” Navarre said. “I’m also going to look at the athletic profile of the school.”
