Natl Champs Offer St. Louis prospect

Nick Patterson recently attended the Ohio State football camp. The St. Louis prospect must have put on a good show because the defending national champs have extended a scholarship offer.
“Ohio State did offer him,” said Johnny Patterson, Nick’s father. “Coach Tressell and his staff are class acts there in Columbus. He had a blast at the camp, he ran the 40 in a time of 4.5 and they also let him participate on both sides of the ball.”

The Patterson’s arrived in Columbus on June 25 and also had a chance to see members of the Ohio State team working out.
“The Ohio State football team was there working out as well so we got the chance to meet and speak with BJ Underwood and his father and mother and other members of the football team,” Johnny said. “I can see why these guys are the national champs. Coach Spencer (recruiter for St. Louis area) and Coach Tucker (DB coach) are great people. These guys worked really hard on getting the best out of Nick during camp so that Coach Tressell would be impressed.”
That pushes Patterson’s offer total to four along with Missouri, Vanderbilt, and Iowa State. In an interview last week Patterson said Missouri was one of the schools in his top two and he would like to make an early decision.
Even though the Buckeyes have offered and more interest seems to be picking up with Patterson he still plans on picking a school early.
“Nick still plans to make a decision early,” Johnny Patterson said. “The schools that have offered have very, very impressive football programs and when you take a look at the academic history of Vanderbilt this makes for a very successful future both on and off the football field.”
