Nations top safety still ringing

When you're the nation's top safety, you should expect your phone to ring off the hook the first day that college coaches can call you. But for Warren (Ohio) Harding standout Prescott Burgess that's not the case - yet.
“I know it’s coming,” he said. “The phone’s about to start ringing off the hook.”

What are also ringing right now is Burguess’ ears. After attending the big Michigan-Washington game on Saturday at the big house, Burgess said he’s still trying to recover from the last minute Wolverine heroics.
“It was pretty loud and an incredible game,” Burgess, who is ranked as the No. 6 player in the nation, said.
“At first I thought Michigan was going to lose, then they pulled it out at the end and all of the people started to rush the field.”
Did Burgess join them?
“Nah,” he said with a laugh.
Burgess said he did get some time after the game to talk to all of the Wolverine coaches, including Lloyd Carr.
“They were talking to me about when I was going to set up my visit,” he said. “I told them that’s what I’m going to work on with my coach soon.”
Burgess said his list remains unchanged and is still at four teams – Michigan and Ohio State still lead Florida and Tennessee.
And when the phone does finally ring today, expect him to have plenty of questions to ask the coaches.
“I want to ask how their program is and how I would fit in,” Burgess said. “I also want to ask some questions about the education. And the most important thing I want to know is when I can start.”
