Nations top OG stays wide open

The nation’s top-rated offensive guard remains “wide open” in regard to his recruitment as the process inches closer and closer to December.
“I’ll be sitting down to figure out who I want to visit sometime soon,” said four-star Tallahassee (Fla.) Lincoln prospect Calvin Darity. “Right now, there’s a bunch of schools who are still in it – basically everyone who’s offered me.”

Darity (6-4, 275, 4.9) said that list currently includes Auburn, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Nebraska, North Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Louisville, Maryland, Duke, Toledo, Syracuse, Clemson and UCF.
“I can't really say for sure I'll visit anyone in particular. I haven’t eliminated anyone yet,” he added.
The Rivals100 Team member intended to make an unofficial visit to Florida for the Gators’ game against Florida State this weekend, but said he was ill and didn’t get to make the trip.
“I haven’t been anywhere else in a while,” he said. “I had been focusing on my season. But now that that’s over, I can start concentrating on this a little more.”
Asked if the Sunshine State schools stood a better chance than the rest of the field – particularly in regard to the hometown Seminoles, Darity continued to keep things close to the vest.
“No, not really,” he said. “I’m not looking at them any more than the other schools on my list.”
Darity is highly sought-after not only for his football skills, but also his high academic profile. He maintains a 3.89 GPA and has scored an 1100 on the SAT.
