Nations Top Center Takes A Trip

Altamonte Springs (Fla.) Lake Brantley center Jordy Lipsey is the top player at his position in the country. He was also a witness to a remarkable upset this weekend.
"I was at the Virginia-South Carolina game this weekend on an unofficial visit," said the 6-foot-4, 267-pounder of his trip to Charlottesville, Va. "That was a great win for them. They showed me a lot."

Lipsey, who lists Virginia, Miami, Stanford and Tennessee as his final four, suddenly has a leader.
"They're at the top of my list right now," Lipsey said of Virginia. "I was hosted the first day by Kevin Bailey and then by Pat Estes and all the players and coaches were great. I had a lot of fun."
Lipsey has an official visit set with Miami for Sept. 20, he'll visit Stanford on Oct. 11 and he'll take his official to Tennessee for either the Alabama or Miami game.
"After those four I hope to decide," he said. "If I can't, I can still take another visit to either Georgia Tech, Florida or Florida State. But I think I'll only need four."
Lipsey is looking for good academics and a "feel-good place" to play his college ball. He wants to major in either business or economics and wants a chance to play early.
"All of the schools I like have said I'd have a chance to compete early, but that seems to be more the case with Virginia and Stanford," he said. "I'll probably know after all my visits, but Virginia was great."
