Nations No. 93 player attends first camp

Hawkinsville, Ga., defensive tackle/offensive guard Brandon Perry has stayed relatively mum about the recruiting process this summer and has not attended many camps. However this weekend he made the trip to Athens to camp with the Georgia Bulldogs.
“The camp went real well,” Perry said. “I thought that I had a great camp up there. This camp was my first and is probably my only for the summer. I had a good time though and I got to see my cousin Charles Johnson, who plays for Georgia, while I was there.”

The 6-foot-2, 285-pound Perry runs the 40-yard dash in 5.1 seconds and is the nation’s No. 93 rated player regardless of position the No. 10 defensive tackle in the country.
“I got to talk to coach Richt while I was there,” Perry said. “He just told me to keep working hard and stay in shape. All the coaches told me that they liked my footwork and then coach Richt asked me what I though of Charles (Johnson) coming up to Georgia. I told him that I thought it was cool and that he would probably like it.’
Last season Perry led the 1-A Red Devils to a state championship, and a perfect 15-0 record. His contribution came in the form of 102 tackles, 16 tackles for loss and 12 sacks.
“Right now I am looking at a lot of schools,” Perry said. “Georgia is one of them of course because Charles plays there, but there are others like Florida, Florida State, Alabama and Auburn and some more. I really don’t have a favorite right now, because they all sound good. I was going to camp at Florida State, but I changed my mind. I am just going to get ready for the season now.”
