Nations No. 2 player open

When you're the nation's No. 2 player, you're bound to get plenty of attention - both on and off the field. But St. Petersburg Catholic athlete Chris Davis can back up the attention with his play on the field.
Davis, a 6-foot, 175-pound touchdown machine, tore it up last weekend in the Kickoff Classic with two touchdowns and 175 yards passing and another 100 yards in total offense.

"It was a good start," Davis said with a chuckle. "I wanted to come out and show people that it's my time to do what I do."
And he did.
But that's nothing new for the five-star prospect.
Davis has been one of the nation's hottest targets ont he recruiting scene for quite some time. With more than 60 scholarship offers, Davis has narrowed his list down to a workable number.
At one point Davis did say that he had a Boston College visit set for this upcoming weekend, but instead he's going to take his visits after the season.
"I'm really interested in Florida State, Florida, Miami, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Auburn, Boston College, Northwestern and USC," Davis said.
"I was thinking about a leader while talking with my family over the weekend. I thought that one of the Florida schools for a long time might be the best place for me. But right now, I don't know. Right now, I'm very open and don't have a leader. I need to see what everybody has to say after September 1."
