National Signing Day could offer flips
Rivals.com's football recruiting analysts weigh in on a question of a day through National Signing Day on Wednesday.

Today's question: Which prospect claiming he is solidly committed do you have the most doubts?
Mike Farrell: I'd put Shaq Thompson here because he's listed as committed, but I'm not sure if he's ever been solidly committed to anything so I'll skip him. I'll go with Dante Fowler Jr., who is committed to Florida State because he is the definition of the question. He maintains he is 100-percent committed to the 'Noles but yet he continues to talk to other coaches and recently took an official to Florida. I'm not saying he'll flip or anything, but I do have some doubts about how solid he is right now.
Adam Gorney: I'm not sure one would categorize Shaq Thompson's commitment to California as solid but he is an important five-star prospect who is certainly looking around at four schools in the closing day before National Signing Day. It would be pretty interesting if Thompson made two pledges to Cal - one after a junior day and one at the Army Bowl - only to flip another time to a rival Pac-12 school. UCLA had an in-home visit Wednesday, Washington and Cal were Thursday and then Oregon stopped by Friday. There was talk even that the five-star safety might wait until next week to visit UCLA but those plans have been nixed apparently. Thompson has a lot of thinking to do in the coming days because all four programs offer him something attractive and until he literally signs his letter of intent, anything could happen.
Josh Helmholdt: I'm going to steal an observation my colleague Brian Perroni made in the aftermath of the Under Armour All-America Game about mothers usually winning out. I'm not believing Landon Collins will sign anywhere other than LSU until I actually see it happen. The Tigers are better than any team in the country at locking down their own state, and with mom and Les Miles both pushing for the five-star safety to stay home, I think there is a decent chance it happens on National Signing Day.
Chris Nee: I would have to go with St. Petersburg (Fla.) Lakewood five-star defensive end Dante Fowler Jr.. The Florida State commitment has kept people on their toes throughout his recruitment, predominantly due to comments made in a positive manner toward the Florida Gators and Will Muschamp. In the past couple of days, Fowler went on the record saying he is "100 percent" to Florida State, but until the ink is dry I am not sure that anybody is ready to take him solely at his word. All that being said, it is still very likely he signs with Florida State on Wednesday.
Keith Niebuhr: I honestly can't pinpoint one. So I'll say this: Any committed prospect that is still taking an official to another school this weekend, I'd have doubts about them. I mean, either you're on board or you aren't. At this stage, unless you're a kid who's only now getting offers, if you've been committed to a school, that should be it. Why are you taking a visit this late? Because you're thinking about making a switch, that's why.

Brian Perroni: Texas A&M wide receiver commitment Bralon Addison visited College Station two weeks ago and said he was done with his recruitment and had canceled his other official visits. However, he decided to visit Oregon this weekend and the Ducks have long been the biggest competitor to the Aggies. Combined with the fact that he is visiting Eugene with friend and Oklahoma State commit Chance Allen, the trip should be at least somewhat worrisome for A&M fans.
