Nashville Pylon 7v7 top performers

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Five teams from various states competed in the Pylon 7v7 Mid-South Regional on Saturday afternoon. The tournament was one of the smaller Pylon events of the year but still had its share of college-bound talent on display. Below are the top individual performances from the one-day event.

Recruiting wrap: Hall is yet to be offered a scholarship.
Performance: Hall played linebacker at Saturday's event but plays defensive back in high school. He will likely play safety in college and moves his thick frame laterally incredibly well. Hall has active hands and is able to cover small targets when asked. He stayed stride for stride with a number of running backs and slot receivers on Saturday afternoon. He'll need to maintain his quickness as he matures and continues to develop.

WR
Eric Gray
Memphis (Tenn.) Lausanne Collegiate SchoolMemphis, Tennessee
Lausanne Collegiate School
Recruiting wrap: Gray Holds an offer from Mississippi State.
Performance: Just an eighth grader, Gray has solid size. He combines his lean frame with incredible agility. He made one of the day's best plays on a jump ball in the end zone and showed an ability to make difficult grabs in traffic. He isn't the most explosive wideout, but he moves smoothly and catches most balls thrown his way. Gray has a ton of potential and could see offers arrive down the road.

WR
Nathan Gregory
Nashville (Tenn.) Father Ryan
Recruiting wrap: Gregory is awaiting his first scholarship offer.
Performance: Gregory has the build to play college football. The massive wide receiver has been known to play some defensive end on his high school team but showed reliable hands around the end zone on Saturday. He provides a large, sure-handed target. And while he won't wow any defensive backs with straight speed, his quickness is solid. Gregory is particularly hard to cover on intermediate routes.
5
WR
Isaiah Owens
Nashville (Tenn.) Cane Ridge
Recruiting wrap: Owens has fielded light interest from Vanderbilt and Tennessee but has not received a scholarship offer as of now.
Performance: Owens has nice height and reliable hands. What sets him apart, though, is his ability to get off the line of scrimmage in a hurry. He made defensive backs pay for playing press coverage on Saturday and also made a couple of spectacular catches in the end zone. There's plenty to like about Owens, who could probably help any number of lower-level FBS teams.

DB
Jay Woods
Pinson (Ala.) Pinson Valley
Recruiting wrap: Woods has a handful of scholarship offers, the most recent of which came from Pittsburgh. He is strongly considering Army and others.
Performance: The slightly undersized Woods makes up for it with physicality. He has a muscular build and can jam a longer receiver at the line. His strength is his ability to break quickly on the ball, though. He transitions well out of his backpedal. Woods is listed at 5-foot-11, but is probably closer to 5-9.
7
QB
Diondre' Sackreiter
Helena, Ala.
Recruiting wrap: Sackreiter does not hold a scholarship offer.
Performance: The 6-foot Sackreiter didn't show overwhelming arm strength on Saturday, but that didn't stop him from getting the job done. Sackreiter goes through his progressions incredibly well and always seems to find the open man. At times, he puts too much air under the ball, but he rarely paid for doing so on Saturday. He throws well on the run. And while he's probably not a high-level FBS quarterback prospect, he was more consistent than any other quarterback at Saturday's event.
8
DB
Theo Jackson
Nashville (Tenn.) John Overton
Recruiting wrap: Jackson is yet to receive a scholarship offer.
Performance: The 6-foot-2 Jackson has fantastic length for an underclassman and closes well. He gets caught out of position at times, but recovers pretty well when those instances strike. He made a number of plays over the top on Saturday and was able to bat away a few balls that looked to be thrown out of his reach.
