Nashville OL picks up second SEC offer

Offer number two for Nashville (Tenn.) Montgomery Bell offensive tackle Wesley Johnson came out of the blue, Kentucky blue. Johnson picked up his second SEC offer recently when Rich Brooks' staff sent an offer his way, joining Vanderbilt on his early list.
Though Johnson was excited to receive the offer, he was also surprised.

"They offered me last week," Johnson said. "(MBA head coach) Coach McGugin told me about it. I wasn't expecting it at all. They just sort of offered. I hadn't talked to them at all. It's still pretty exciting. It's an honor to get an offer from any school."
Among the other schools that have been showing Johnson interest, Duke University has been one of the more active suitors. However, at this point Johnson is still focused on other activities than recruiting.
"Track just started so I'll be focused on that as well as football," he said. "I'm just lifting after school and trying to do some running. I'm still gaining weight."
Weighing in at the 240-pound range Johnson will continue to try to add weight to his frame but didn't have any trouble pancaking defenders as a junior. He has plans on showcasing those skills this spring as well.
"I'm sort of starting to think about camps," he said. "I'm gonna start talking to Coach McGugin about that the next couple of weeks. I'm definitely planning on going to some."
