Nance hopes to narrow things down

Nash Nance is one of the top quarterbacks from the Peach State. Nance, 6-3 and 200 pounds, is from Calhoun (Ga.) High School. Right now he has six scholarship offers and hopes to have things narrowed down soon.
"I would really like to get it down to four schools," Nance said. "I would like to commit before the season. It could happen this month or maybe in July."

So who's still in the running?
"I have been in contact with Mississippi State. We talk on the phone and email. Same with Vanderbilt. I just sent some stuff (paperwork) to Harvard so I need to see where we are at with them. I also like the last two schools that have offered me (East Carolina and West Virginia). Right now I am just contacting coaches."
Nance says there are a few teams recruiting him that have not offered yet. But they are showing interest and that possibility always exists.
"Yeah. Clemson is one school for sure. Their quarterback coach came and watched me throw this spring. He's from the area and a country boy and he liked me a lot. We are staying in touch.
"Duke is another school. I am really considering them because of their academics. That is something big for me. A lot of football players lose site of that but I am not. You need a good education especially in today's economy.
"I am taking the SATs on Saturday and I may head to Florida or Wake Forest on Sunday. I am not sure yet."
Nance says that he and some of his younger receivers will camp at Furman this summer. Other than that, he wants to visit some schools but doesn't know which ones yet.
So far East Carolina, West Virginia, Harvard, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, and UTC have offered him a scholarship.
