Names you should know after Lone Star Prospects Showcase

FT. WORTH, Tx. -- Last Sunday’s Dallas leg of the Lone Star Prospects Showcase series featured plenty of talent that is still looking for its first offers. While the spring has been a busy time for college assistants hitting the road and handing out offers, in some cases these players have been top performers at several camps over the last few months and should get a second look.

Recruiting Report: Jones is still waiting on his first offer, but feels Baylor has shown significant interest.

Performance: Jones had a solid day in his earlier camp appearance at the Rivals Three Stripe Camp presented by Adidas, and built on that earlier performance last Sunday. He’s got a great look for a running back and has shown enough agility and quickness to excel in camps. Right now, Jones is not a consistent threat as a pass-catcher, but his athleticism has helped him make a few impressive grabs as well.

Recruiting Report: Henry is still waiting for his first offer.

Performance: Henry has been busy putting in work on the camp circuit all spring and is anxious for teams to start taking a look at him. He’s got good size and natural ability as a pass-catcher. Henry has also flashed the creativity and shiftiness of his highlights from last season in the open-field tackle drills against linebackers. He’s establishing himself as an all-purpose back that programs should start showing more interest in.

Recruiting Report: Mosley has seven offers, including Arkansas State, Bowling Green and Louisiana-Lafayette.

Performance: Mosley will probably be categorized most as a tweener that is shorter than most top defensive ends and denser than most linebackers, but his explosion and quickness helped him hold his own even in pass coverage. Mosley tried his hand at every defensive competition against offensive linemen and skill players alike and was convincing at each.

Recruiting Report: Alexander has three FCS offers

Performance: Alexander had arguably the best day at wide receiver at the camp. He had the most bounce in his step and looked free and light running his routes. He caught the ball consistently on a variety of routes and simply outclassed most defenders when matched up with them one-on-one.

Recruiting Report: Jackson is waiting on his first FBS offer

Performance: Jackson has been a regular participant at big events all spring long and it’s a little puzzling as to why more programs haven’t shown more significant interest in him. Jackson fits right in with the rest of DeSoto’s big, athletic linebackers and has worked well at each event he’s participated in this spring. On Sunday, he was a capable defender against both the run and pass, but is every bit the run-and-hit brand of linebacker.
