The 6-foot-1, 195-pounder recently competed at the U.S. Army All-American junior combine in San Antonio, Texas, and came away feeling good about his performance.
"I just came from that combine last week," he said. "I did great."
Blanton talked about why he's considered one of the top junior safety prospects in the Tar Heel State.
"I guess I'm always getting around the ball," he said. "I'm a playmaker and I always make plays in situations. I got great man-to-man coverage and great zone coverage. I can read routes before they come off the run and I can read the quarterback."
Blanton has yet to finalize his plans for the spring with regards to combines, camps or junior days.
