Myles Farmer adds big offer, he's a 2019 ATH to know in Georgia

THE LATEST: Atlanta (Ga.) Westlake has talent. Myles Sims is committed to Michigan, Gino Appleberry is a top running back in Georgia and defensive back Tyrese Ross has around two dozen offers. That trio leads the way in 2018 for the Lions, so who's next?

Myles Farmer is a name to know. He just added an offer from Virginia Tech and he picked up offers from Florida Atlantic, Tulane and UCF recently.

Georgia, Maryland, Michigan and USC are among some of the schools showing interest in the 6-foot-3, 185 pound junior. He played wide receiver his first two seasons in high school, but this spring he made the move to cornerback and he has a chance to be big-time at that position.

The early attention caught Farmer by surprise.

IN HIS OWN WORDS: "I did not see it all coming this soon," said Farmer. "The offers have surprised me. I am just blessed by getting them. I was hoping it would happen, but they have all been surprises so far.

"I do not know much about the schools that have offered me yet. I hope to get out to some camps this summer and I might learn more then. I grew up a fan of Miami. I have family in Florida and my dad has taken me to some Miami games before.

"I have always played wide receiver, but I made the move to cornerback in the spring and I feel I am progressing and getting better. I really think cornerback will be my position in the future."

RIVALS REACTION: It is very early for Farmer and these offers have caught him off guard a little bit. He is a prospect Rivals saw live this spring and he is a very intriguing athlete. His head coach Kareem Reid has coached some elite prospects and he feels Farmer is next in line. Farmer has great size, he has length coaches covet on offense or defense and he is likely see his offer list grow in the coming months. If Miami decides to offer, that will be the school to beat, but it is early and any school that offers in the near future will have a shot.
