Myers seals the deal

When we caught up with Lynwood (Calif.) running back Leilyon Myers a couple of weeks ago following his official visit to Washington, we could tell the talented athlete was very high on the Huskies. So high in fact that Myers decided to end the recruiting process and announced earlier today for the Huskies.
"Yeah, I had been leaning to Washington for awhile now, even before I took my visit," Myers said. "I just had such a good time there and got a great vibe with the players and coaches. I really like Coach Willingham a lot and feel he's the guy to turn the program around.

"I had been thinking about this for awhile now, my mom and I have talked a lot about making a commitment and whether or not now was the time. I was sold on the visit and after meeting with Coach Willingham on an in-home visit, that sold my mom too. She was as excited as I was."
Myers was originally planning to take an official visit to Boise State this coming weekend but he will no longer be taking that trip.
"No, even before Coach Hawkins took the Colorado job, I had decided against visiting," Myers said. "I didn't see myself going to Boise so I didn't want to waste their time. It came down to UW and Utah but to be honest, it was a pretty easy decision. I'm very excited about Washington and feel it's definitely the best place for me."
It still remains to be seen what side of the ball Myers will be playing on for the Huskies. He prefers running back but can also play in the secondary and said he was recruited as an athlete by the Huskies.
