Mustangs get Metroplex LB

Denton, Texas outside linebacker Anthony Sowe may have fallen under the national recruiting radar, but his versatility at several positions at the high school level scored him some scholarship offers and led to this weekend's commitment.
The 6-foot-2, 195-pound player has played everything from wide receiver to defensive end at Denton, but projects as an outside linebacker. Two offers came in from SMU and North Texas, but his official visit this past weekend got his announcement out in the open.

"I went up for an official visit to SMU this weekend and actually made my decision on Saturday night up there," Sowe said. "I had spoken with coach Phil Bennett and asked about the visit, told him I liked it, and I made my decision."
"It was never fitting in athletically, but just with the campus and the academic situation. I did and really enjoyed it."
Sowe turned down any other offers because of the overall experience from beginning to end.
"After hanging out with a couple of the players and my host, and what were going to be my future teammates, I really enjoyed it," Sowe said. "It was just the feel there and it was a good experience."
