Mundt makes Pac-12 pledge

John Mundt has seen his recruitment take off this off-season but the Modesto (Calif.) Central Catholic tight end is not waiting around any longer.
After a recent trip to Oregon, the 6-foot-5, 235-pound prospect made his commitment to the Ducks on Monday and said he could not be happier.

"It was a lot of fun," Mundt said.
"I saw Oregon State and then I saw Oregon the day after and I'm looking for a school that I can call home, that feels like home and without a doubt it was Oregon."
Mundt, arguably the top tight end at the Oakland NIKE Camp a few weeks ago, said everything about Oregon fit well from the campus, to the facilities and especially the coaching staff.
The Modesto Central Catholic tight end said he knew the facilities would impress him but he also got a great read on the coaches and loved their mentality.
"From the people, to the coaches, to the mindset of the game, I cannot wait to be a Duck," Mundt said.
"I already knew I was going to be blown away by the facilities. That's something you know about Oregon going in. The attitude toward winning and making me the best player, I saw it in the coaches every time I talked to them and that's what I really loved about the place."
Mundt also has offers from Cal, Colorado, Duke, Fresno State, Nevada, Oregon State, San Diego State and Washington but he said after seeing Oregon and making his pledge there's nothing else to consider in his recruitment.
"This is the end of the line," Mundt said. "I'm a Duck and I couldn't be more excited about it."
