Mundt busy taking visits

John Mundt has seen his recruitment take off in recent months and the Modesto (Calif.) Central Catholic tight end is busy taking unofficial visits.
The 6-foot-5, 235-pound three-star prospect is at Oregon and Oregon State over the next few days and both programs among many others have already offered.

"Those are two big Pac-12 schools," Mundt said. "I'm very excited to come up here, meet the coaching staffs and see how I fit in each offense. I'm really excited to see them both. This is the first time I've been to Oregon and I'm really excited.
"I've only seen Colorado and Duke and I've sat down and talked strategy and I was surprised by both of them. I love Colorado and I also love Duke. It's going to be a pretty tough decision.
"The more I see the more I'll know. I'll be really happy to see these two and get a feel for college football and see where I fit in."
So far, Mundt has been offered by Cal, Colorado, Duke, Fresno State, Nevada, Oregon, Oregon State, San Diego State and Washington.
After he gets back from Oregon and Oregon State, Mundt plans to work out and take in the junior day at Stanford.
Things are heating up in his recruitment and that's a good thing because Mundt, arguably the top tight end at the recent Oakland NIKE Camp, plans to make his decision before the start of his senior year.
"I'm really happy with the offers I have right now," Mundt said.
"The schools that have offered have really recruited me the right way. They've known me for a long time and it's been a process and they've been checking my grades. It's more than just film. That's really great. I plan on committing before my high school season."
