Multiple avenues for Deluzio

Leesburg (Fla.) First Academy athlete Ben Deluzio doesn't only make an impact on the football field. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound safety is also a standout middle infielder for First Academy. In fact, the first recruiting interest he received was for his work on the diamond.
"It was originally more for baseball, but the football side is starting to pick up quite a bit," Deluzio said. "I would like to play both. It would be a hard decision to pick one or the other. I am just trying to keep all of my options open."

As for his options on the football field, Deluzio, who plays wide receiver in addition to safety, isn't quite sure exactly who has offered him at this point.
"I am not sure about offers right now," Deluzio said. "I think I am close to some offers, but I am not sure who has and who hasn't offered me."
Two schools that have reportedly offered him for football are Connecticut and SMU. They were amongst the contingent at his spring game.
"At our spring game was SMU, Northwestern, and UConn," Deluzio said. "I have also been hearing from Duke, Miami, and UCF too."
According to Deluzio, Duke has expressed an interest in him for both football and baseball. The Blue Devils want to get him on campus this summer. Visits have been difficult for Deluzio with a packed scheduled in recent months.
"As of right now I have not," Deluzio said. "With baseball right now, I have been going every which way for that and I haven't had time to attend any events at schools. I will have to make time to head out and see some schools.
"I think we are trying to go to some camps over the summer," Deluzio added. "It all depends on how it fits my baseball schedule for the summer."
With interest in two sports to evaluate and the hopes of more offers, Deluzio isn't in a rush to make a decision.
"I will probably just have to let it play out and see where it takes me as opportunities come up," Deluzio said. "I don't have a leader right now. I am trying to keep everyone the same and be fair to every school. I am thankful for every opportunity that I get."
With regards to baseball, schools such as Central Florida, Florida Atlantic, Florida International, and Ole Miss have reportedly extended offers. Others such as Florida and Florida State have also expressed interest.
