Mullins makes pick

Robert Mullins of Los Angeles Dorsey has offers from plenty of Pac 10 schools. Teams like Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon and Washington State were all battling to get his commitment. In the end, the battle came down to Cal and Arizona State.
It's a battle that ended just over 24 hours ago.

"Actually, I committed to Cal yesterday at 2 p.m.," Mullins, a 6-foot, 191-pound three-star outside linebacker. "I'm definitely solid, and I'm done. I called coach (Jeff) Tedford and coach (Bob) Gregory, and they were excited."
The Bears have been near the top of the list for a long time – especially after his Dec. 15 official visit to Berkeley. He did Arizona State back on Jan. 12 and Oregon recently, but in the end the Bears were the school he just felt right about.
"Cal is a team that has shown they not only have potential, but they already have the weapons to win a national championship," Mullins said. "The academics at Cal set them apart from my last school I visited, Oregon, and ASU. Those schools were close, but Cal just had a better tradition academically and athletically."
"ASU and Oregon were pretty cool, but I'm done."
